Sports

Extra-curricular activities benefit students of all ages because these activities promote better social, mental, and physical health. They are a great way to explore interests, make new friends, and build social skills outside of the classroom by competing with teams from other schools. Students are encouraged to participate regardless of prior experience.

  • The goal is to provide a variety of extra-curricular sports for students to participate in throughout the school year such as cross country, basketball, volleyball and track and field. These activities are dependent on student interest and coaching availability by school staff and/or volunteers.

Cross Country
Cross country is a sport in which teams and individuals run a race on open-air courses over natural terrain such as dirt or grass. The course may include surfaces of grass and earth, pass through woodlands and open country, and include hills, flat ground and sometimes gravel road and minor obstacles. It is both an individual and a team sport, which usually takes place during autumn and winter, and can include weather conditions of rain, sleet, snow or hail, and a wide range of temperatures.

There is no player cutting; all eligible students are allowed to participate.

Track & Field
Track and Field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills.
