Mission Public Schools and Stave Falls Elementary is excited to welcome your child(ren) to the school district! The kindergarten registration procedure​ outlines information about the required documents and other important details. Our pre-registration process is available online during the below-outlined dates. It is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Each online registration is time stamped. After you complete and submit the pre-registration form, the school will contact you to set up an appointment to verify supporting documentation to finalize your child's registration. 

  • 2024/2025 Kindergarten Pre-Registration week will be January 15 - 19, 2024
  • Children born in 2019 are eligible for Kindergarten in 2024/2025

To complete your child's kindergarten registration, please follow the below steps. We recommend contacting the school office to schedule an appointment. Registration documents may also be submitted via email. ​

  1. Read the Kindergarten Registration Procedure 2024/2025
  2. Locate your Catchment School: School Locator - Mission Public Schools
    • Stave Falls Elementary Pre-Registration (link will be accessible from 6:00am January 15, 2024 until 6:00pm January 19, 2024)
    • All other elementary Pre-Registration links are available here​.
  3. Download and save the Registration Package​ ​​​or obtain a copy from the school office.
  4. ​​Indicate if you will be applying for a Cross Boundary Request​. This does not guarantee you a spot at the requested school.​
  5. Take your documentation and completed registration form with you to your appointment. (See accepted documentation below)
  6. Out of District registrations, please submit the registration package only to be added to the waitlist.

Grades 1-6 Registration
Mission Public Schools and Stave Falls Elementary is excited to welcome your child(ren) to the school district! ​To register your child, please follow the below steps. 

  1. Locate your Catchment School: School Locator - Mission Public Schools
  2. Download and save the Registration Package​ ​​​before editing or obtain a copy from the school office.
  3. Submit your documentation and completed registration form to the school office. (See accepted documentation below)

​Cross Boundary Registrations
Application Process:

  • Parents who would like their child to attend a cross-boundary school must complete a Cross Boundary Application. This procedure applies to all elementary, middle school and program of choice schools. The forms must be submitted to their catchment school. The application will be considered for the current and the following school year. 
  • Students attending a cross boundary school in the current year will receive a cross boundary renewal form in February. The form must be completed and returned to their current school by March 31. The application will be considered for the following year. 
  • Mission elementary grade six students will receive a notice of their middle school catchment in December. For the student to attend the other middle school, parents must submit a Cross Boundary Application Form to their current elementary school by March 31. The application will be considered for the following year. 

Approval Process:

  • The cross boundary enrolment approvals will be based on the available space and the prioritization outlined in the general guidelines of the Catchment Area, Cross Boundary, Schools of Choice, and Programs of Choice Policy, and further prioritized by the date the application or renewal notice was received.
  • If at June ​15, the cross boundary classroom or school enrolment projection for September is 90% or more of the schools’ maximum enrolment, the cross boundary application decisions will be made by the Friday of the first week in September. 
  • If at June 15, the cross boundary classroom or school enrolment projection for September is less than 90% of the schools’ maximum enrolment, the cross boundary application decisions may be confirmed in June.
Out of District Registrations
Out of district is anyone the does not reside in Mission. ​These registrations are waitlisted and the school will contact you if and when a spot becomes available. ​To register your child, please follow the below steps. 
  1. Download and save the Registration Package​ ​​​before editing or obtain a copy from the school office.
  2. Submit your documentation and completed registration form to the school office. (See accepted documentation below)

Accepted Documentation

  • ​Proof of Age: Birth Certificate, Passport, BC Services Card (photo version only), Permanent Residence Card, Aboriginal Status Card, Baptismal Certificate, Certificate of Citizenship, or Immigration Canada Document. 
  • ​Proof of Residency: Driver’s License, BC Services Card (photo version only), Municipal Tax Bill, Rental Agreement, Utility Bill.
  • Proof of Physical Address (catchment schools only): Parent’s Driver’s License, Mortgage Statement, Municipal Tax Bill, proof of purchase of residence, Rental Agreement accompanied with utility bill, credit card invoice, letter stating current address notarized by a lawyer or notary public. ​​​


No registration is complete until all forms and documents have been provided.
