What Is Track & Field?
Track and Field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The name is derived from where the sport takes place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events. The foot racing events can include sprints, middle and long-distance events, racewalking, and hurdling. The jumping and throwing events can include long jump, triple jump, high jump, and pole vault, while the most common throwing events are shot put, javelin, discus, and hammer. Mission School District typically holds their Track & Field events in May.
Grades 5/6 - District Track & Field Meet
When: Thursday, May 9th, 2024Time: 8:45am - 2:00pm
Where: Albert McMahon Elementary
Parking: On the street or the Church parking lot; do not park in the school's main lot.
Information: Parents are required to arrange transportation to and from the Track meet; please ensure your child is on time. Students are to check in at the beginning of the day with Ms. McGregor at the Stave Falls Tent. Pick up time is 2:00pm.
